In this period of health crisis, the reopening of swimming pools and aquatic centers poses the difficult question of the measures to be taken to limit the risks for users and staff.
The simple increase in chlorine doses could lead to an accumulation of disinfection by-products, the majority of which are known for their toxicity (volatile compounds such as trichloramine, chloral hydrate and chloroform, or dissolved compounds such as haloacetic acids). This web conference brings together health regulators and agencies, chemists and microbiologists from different countries (Europe and the United States) to propose proportionate protection measures.
The 8th International Conference on Swimming Pool and Spa, organized by the LCE from 18 to 22 March 2019, welcomed more than 110 participants (46% of researchers, 32% industrialists, 22% representatives of health agencies) from 24 different countries.
The best research papers presented during this conference are currently being selected for publication in the journal Environment International (IF2017 = 7.320) in a virtual dedicated volume (Virtual Special Issue) whose guest editors are Jean-Luc Boudenne and Bruno Coulomb (LCE) and Tarek Manasfi (EAWAG).
Since the first edition in 1989 in Orlando (USA), the ICFIA congress has been held every two years to discuss fundamental aspects and innovative developments based on flow injection analysis and related techniques.
This meeting will be held in Marseille (France) in June 2020 and will focus on developments in flow-based instrumentation, on-line sample processing, miniaturized systems and microfluidic systems and new applications of these techniques in the field of biology, environmental chemistry, or in the industrial field for process monitoring.

Cette campagne de mesure intensive vise à caractériser en temps réel les polluants gazeux et particulaires présents en zone portuaire sur une échelle de temps très fine, de l'ordre de la minute.
Thursday, June 20th was inaugurated the super site of Marseille-5avenues located in the Longchamp Park in the presence of Mr. Pierre-Charles Maria, President of Air PACA, Mr. Denis Bertin representing Mr. Yvon Berland, President of Aix-Marseille University, Mr. Henri Wortham, Director of the Laboratory Chemistry Environment and Mr. Yves Noack, President of the Scientific Council of Air PACA. This inauguration was the subject of a conference (N. Marchand, LCE-AMU / CNRS and E. Bard, GEREGE-AMU / College of France) which underline the partnership between Research in Provence-Alpes-Côte d ' Azur and AirPACA.
