Thursday, June 20th was inaugurated the super site of Marseille-5avenues located in the Longchamp Park in the presence of Mr. Pierre-Charles Maria, President of Air PACA, Mr. Denis Bertin representing Mr. Yvon Berland, President of Aix-Marseille University, Mr. Henri Wortham, Director of the Laboratory Chemistry Environment and Mr. Yves Noack, President of the Scientific Council of Air PACA. This inauguration was the subject of a conference (N. Marchand, LCE-AMU / CNRS and E. Bard, GEREGE-AMU / College of France) which underline the partnership between Research in Provence-Alpes-Côte d ' Azur and AirPACA.
LCE organizes and drives a symposium during the next Pittsburg Conference that will be held in Orlando (Florida, USA), 26th February-1st March, 2018. The topics of this symposium are related to the latest "Advances in the analysis of disinfection by-products" in the Environment. As shown by several studies conducted in LCE, the formation of disinfection byproducts (DBPs) is an issue of concern because of the potential of these compounds to induce adverse health and environmental effects.
As part of the ANR Lab-on-Ship project, the LCE will conduct with IFREMER a sampling and analysis campaign along the Loire estuary from 10 to 16 April 2018 on the N / O Thalia.
This international conference intends to present the current state of knowledge regarding the impact of the recreational and sporting use of swimming pools and similar environments upon the health of users and staff– specifically microbial contamination and exposure to chemicals.
